Review by Gisele Grignet
This is a pretty cool album. The
Offspring have delivered
a record that will definitely feed their starving fans while keeping
their critics in line. There are lots of punchy power riffs very
reminiscent of their last album. Sure, there are a couple
of surprises, too, to be sure (No, I won't say -- buy it and find out!),
but overall this is an album that should quench the thirst of
the diehard fan. The packaging is really cool, too, with lots
of neato illustrations that remind me of those turn-of-the-century,
horribly-misled medical books.
The only song on the record that raised my eyebrows was the big single, "Gone Away." It's a little too MTV, what with the video and the new look and all. But, hey, if you like these guys, you'll find the rest of the record makes up for it in spades. I give it a big thumbs-up.
